Pretty things

Went to The Cannery with Alice today. The whole place is all spruced up. There was even a bazaar there!

This is what I bought just now.
Her name is Misea.

Pretty huh? Not cheap though. But I just couldn't stop staring at it.
I bought matching earrings and another pearl neacklace.
Will show you after I take pictures of them.

Anyway, check their website. www.jamcreations.blogspot.com

Very pretty things :)

4th day in Paris - 11th April 2007 - Part 2 - Breathe taking Montmartre

I am standing at the bottom of the hill at Montmartre. Behind me is the famous Basilica of the Sacre Coeur.

Montmartre is a hill 130 m. high, in the north of Paris in the 18th arrondissement, a part of the Right Bank, primarily known for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur on its summit and as a nightclub district. The other, older, church on the hill is Saint Pierre de Montmartre, which claims to be the location at which the Jesuit order of priests was founded. Many artists had studios or worked around the community of Montmartre, some were Dali, Monet, and Picasso.

2 very cute cow milk pots in one of the shops!

We decided to do the Parisian way. To seat ouside a cafe facing one direction and do people watch :)

Hot Chocolate and Latte.

A view of the Basilica of the Sacre Coeur from the cafe.
We nearly didn't want to go ALL the way to the Basilica because we were damn tired by this time. And the flight os steps basically were a put off. 130m hill ok?

Basilica of the Sacré Cœur was built on Montmartre from 1876 to 1912 by public subscription as a gesture of expiation after the defeat of 1871 in the Franco-Prussian War. Its white dome is a highly visible landmark in the city, where just below it artists still set up their easels each day amidst the tables and colorful umbrellas of Place du Tertre.
A view of Paris from the Basilica. Fantastic!

We are not supposed to take any photos inside the Basilica/Church, but Colin sneaked a shot.
The light is coming through the glass at the very top of the church.
THIS is the favourite place of mine in Paris. Calming and peaceful. I had the urge to want to cry or something. I do not know why. It was just so beautiful inside the church.
We happened to be there to witness the 6pm mass. The singing of the sisters there were just so beautiful.
Thank you Jesus!

I love you. And I will never forget the feeling this place gives me.
I I
A happy boy!

At the entrance of the Basilica. The stone carvings on the frame are magnificent.
Descending ...

The same cafe we had hot drinks earlier with colourful sandwich :)

Towards our next destination! Place du la Concorde.
I thought Colin was taking ONE photo. I posed and waited...

Still posing...

Btw, we saw this guy with a baguette on his back. Is this how the French fight the war? hehe...
Pretty hor? Basically the most famous building in Paris. No explanations needed.

Another angle.

Oh My God! Look ma! Eiffel!
Teeheehee....

We were taking the above pics by lying completely flat on the ground :) Other tourists were amused by us.

I am actually here in Paris looking at The Eiffel Tower.
You know the feeling is so surreal. Like one is here and not here at the same time?
